The Sogkonate Garden Club (SGC)

The Sogkonate Garden Club (SGC) is an organization based in the town of Little Compton, Rhode Island. However its membership is wider than Little Compton.  The SGC was organized in 1975, and federated in 1976. A detailed history of the garden club is here.

The Sogkonate Garden Club’s Mission is to:

  • Acquire a broader knowledge of gardening techniques

  • Educate school children and adults about gardening techniques

  • Protect and preserve natural resources, birds and wildlife

  • Encourage public planting of flowers, shrubs and trees for Little Compton’s beautification

  • Support the aims of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., New England Garden Clubs, Inc., and Rhode Island Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc.
